A GLIMPSE OF GUATEMALA

Two weeks ago I got the opportunity to travel to Guatemala for a buying trip with one of my dearest friends.  It was a much needed break from my everyday workload.  I did not open my computer once in 5 WHOLE DAYS!  It was amazing.  We actually worked our butts off  but worked more hands on by doing product development, connect face-to-face with artisans, collaborate on new designs, roam through the markets for inspiration, and spend a day at Lake Atitlan! The best work week I could have asked for!

It was so refreshing to spend time in Guatemala where I was continuously reminded of the beauty of indigenous craft and what MAVEN represents. So many incredible opportunities and artisans work to share this year!

Here is just a glimpse of our trip.

We visited a new cooperative that hand makes the most incredible boots I have ever seen in Guatemala. Working on collaborating with them for Spring collection!

Meet Mayra: Her and her sister work in San Antonio and are incredible weavers. We have partnered with them to create a new bag line! Exciting things ahead! We just love their work and dedication to their craft:)
