Last month we did a style shoot with one of our favorite Chicago Stylists and fashion show guru, Savvy Souk. We always have such blast with her, so we asked her to pair an outfit with our bowler bag. Typically, these bags make for the perfect overnight or weekend bag. You can fit A TON of stuff in there AND they have a zipper, so perfect for any travel plans! However, with winter approaching, we tend to carry more stuff with us so I think they make for a great everyday bag. You can pack a laptop, clutch, scarf, mittens, keys, book ( honestly anything really) and look fabulous toting it around your city with you!
We love how Souk played off the studs on our black bowler and wore a kitten heel with a metallic toe and a blouse that has metallic studs! So cute! Since it’s winter, you can get away with a whole black ensemble, maybe add a textured piece like Souk did with her faux fur vest! She looks fabulously chic and the bowler just completes her outfit! Check it out!
Our bowler bag was made by Rachid in Marrakech, Morocco. He runs 2 small workshops and a retail space on the outskirts of the Marrakech Medina. He employs over 12 leather artisans, including pattern makers, tailors, and leather dyers. He began learning the trade at the age of 16, after finishing high school, and apprenticed with three different master leather workers before opening his own workshop five years later. He has an eye for combining Western design with Moroccan craftsmanship and reads Elle and Marie Claire to come up with new designs.
Our Moroccan leather fold over clutches are one of our favorite everyday pieces! Super easy to transition, you can take them everywhere from your morning meeting, to lunch with your BFF, to a night on the town…. The opportunities with these little bags are endless! (Not to mention, they make perfect gifts for all the women in your life!) We asked our stylist, Savvy Souk, to help us with some looks and here is what she came up with!
The ‘Little Olive’ Leather Fold Over Clutch is great for the girl-on-the-go! Accessorize with jeans, a fab Fall jacket or blazer, and some knee-high leather boots! We especially love how the sweet shade of light pink looks with the contrasting dark olive. This look is so classic and simple, every woman should already have these pieces already in their closet!
The ‘Mauve Maude’ Leather Fold Over Clutch looks so stylish with a chunky ivory sweater and some matching pumps! This look is so cozy, it’s great for an evening out with the girls, or even just a relaxing Saturday with your beau. Don’t you love?
This bold and colorful outfit is a great example on how to style a Fold Over Clutch on a casual day of fun! Heading downtown to go shopping or going out for coffee with a friend? Pair a bright sweater with a comfy pair of flats (we love ‘Attack of the Green Python’ Flats!) and a statement necklace (like our ‘Nantu Waterfall’ Necklace), and then grab your favorite Maven Clutch and you’re ready to go!
Show us how you style your Fold Over Clutch! #stylewithmaven
A special thanks to Souk for styling with our clutches! We love the looks you came up with!
Transitioning into our Fall wardrobe is filled with mixed emotions. You are pulling out your scarves and tights for the first time in months, and it feels sooo good to see them again! However, you are also saying goodbye to all you sundresses. Maven is based in Chicago, so we are just starting to get the colder weather. The streets are suddenly consumed with the latest Fall trends; sweaters, boots, fall color trends, and long sleeves! We wanted to put together a few basic looks that are so easy to duplicate. All accessorized with Maven of course!
This first look I just love! All you need is a basic shift dress, add a blazer and a pair of tights and your set! She looks so chic! We added a little color pop with our Kilim Boots and pulled it all together with a neutral colored foldover clutch!
This look is a little edgier, which we love! Who says you can’t extend the length of shorts weather? Just add a pair of opaque tights! We stuck with black and cream with this look and just added color in her glasses and boots. I think she rocks it!
